InnVision 2008 Holiday Appeal

November 7, 2008

Dear Friend,

Sara and her family lived on the streets of San Jose until a few days ago when they came to us for help. They are like thousands of others who come to us every day seeking aid. They are the homeless whose plight is growing as you read this letter. Home foreclosures are making our usual task here at InnVision even more difficult than it was last year. But we know that in the upcoming months your support will make the difference in helping those who are facing desperate times.

Sara’s story is not unusual. Many families must choose between paying rent and putting food on the table. The job market is drying up. Many low-income jobs do not provide adequate means to live in this valley, and soaring gas prices have added transportation challenges, too.

It wasn’t supposed to be this way. For as far back as most of us can remember, life in Silicon Valley has always been prosperous. People came from all over the world to work in our high tech companies, to enjoy the lifestyle here, and to thrive. We are one of the most affluent communities in the country, yet we are seeing thousands of people sliding into poverty all around us. It is staggering to see how many people reach out to InnVision every year for help with housing, a warm meal, a friendly face.

We at InnVision are dedicated to fighting homelessness, hunger, and loss of hope. We are committed to providing resources and guidance to transform lives. As the largest provider of shelter and supportive services in Silicon Valley, InnVision, last year, served over 20,000 people, many in families, at 20 locations throughout Silicon Valley.

Yes, these are desperate times; and so we ask you to please do what you can to help those in such dire need all over the valley. Your donation of $100 will cover a life-skills workshop. A donation of $250 will pay for 166 hot meals. And your generous donation of $500 will ensure a clean and safe bed for 30 nights.

Your contribution will be put to work immediately, doing what we do best - rebuilding broken lives and giving hope to thousands as they struggle to find their way home. Give today and know you have helped a neighbor in need.

Sincerely,

Christine Burroughs/CEO
